Soulman’s BBQ: Royse City, Texas

Soulman’s BBQ in Texas

It’s the dawn of another day out in the plains of east Texas as the sun rises over Soulman’s BBQ in Royse City. The dozing diesels huddled in the lot will soon be roaring out onto interstate 30 directly behind us. But not before their drivers fuel up with a hearty dose of good Texas eatin.’

1. Great Bar-B-Que 2. Great Service 3. Great GOD! (Romans 7:25) That’s the winning recipe used by Soulman’s BBQ ever since they opened their Pleasant Grove doors in 1974. Using their timeless family Bar-B-Que techniques (still used today), Soulman’s quickly became familiar fare for locals wanting something different from the “run of the mill” Bar-B-Que joints.

With a large variety of mouthwatering meats including, beef, chicken, ham, turkey, pork, sausage, hot links, and the customer favorite, ribs. All cooked “low and slow” over hickory wood. And side items like potato salad, cole slaw, ranch house beans and fresh cut French fries. Soulman’s strongly believe in large portions. And by their motto, “We’re not stingy with our meat,” and with self-serve vegetables, they mean it.

Complementing the great food, the customer service also exceeds expectations. In short, everything about Soulman’s Bar-B-Que can be summed up in timeless cliche; “Everything’s big in Texas.” Come hungry!
