[Gallery] Banana Joe’s: Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Gallery #2)

Capitalizing on the Caribbean style club themes so popular today. Banana Joe’s was. Not ever arguably, but just plain was the most colorful nightclub in northeast Pa.. Re-incarnated from the old Market Street Square Station Complex, Banana Joe’s opened it’s doors in 2001 and quickly became the “Coyote Ugly” of the northeast Pa. bar scene.

Warm surroundings, attractive crowds and the hottest bar staff in the area made Banana Joe’s a Spring Break experience locals could enjoy. It’s colorful history ended in late 2004 closing yet another chapter in NEPA (northeast Pa’s) club manifesto.

Over the years the Station Complex has taken on many faces. From “Peanuts” to the “Bebop Cafe” and the “Factory,” this club chameleon changes looks more than Madonna. Today it sits in disrepair with plans for it to become a tourist center.
